The North Carolina Board of Transportation allowed 14-foot-wide homes on the state's roads, but up until January 1997, 16-foot-wide residences were not enabled. 41 states enabled 16-foot-side homes, but they were not offered in North Carolina. Under a trial program authorized January 10, 1997, the wider homes could be provided on specific roads at particular times of day and travel 10 miles per hour listed below the speed limitation, with companion lorries in front and also behind. Ultimately, all houses needed to leave the state on interstate highways. Mobile houses can be found in 2 major dimensions, single-wides and also double-wides.
