The North Carolina Board of Transport allowed 14-foot-wide houses on the state's roadways, yet till January 1997, 16-foot-wide houses were not allowed. 41 states enabled 16-foot-side homes, yet they were not offered in North Carolina. Under a trial program approved January 10, 1997, the broader residences can be provided on details roads at certain times of day and also traveling 10 miles per hour listed below the speed restriction, with companion vehicles in front and behind. Eventually, all residences needed to leave the state on interstate freeways. Mobile houses are available in two major sizes, single-wides and double-wides.
